NFL Fantasy 2025: Start 'Em, Sit 'Em: Quarterbacks for Week 7
Are you ready to make some bold fantasy football moves? This week, we're diving into the quarterback positions and exploring some debatable situations that could make or break your lineup. Let's get started!
Start 'Em
- Maye vs Goff: A Close Call
Maye has been on fire lately, with 19-plus fantasy points in four of his last five games. He leads the NFL in passer rating on deep throws, and his EPA from a clean pocket ranks fourth in the league. The Titans' defense is generating pressure at the sixth-lowest rate, making Maye a safe bet with clear upside. Goff, on the other hand, has shown more upside in the last two weeks, but he's returning to Detroit with a tough matchup against the Bucs, who are in the top 10 in passing yards, touchdowns, and fantasy PPG yielded to QBs.
- Fields' Upside vs. Panthers
Justin Fields' fantasy experience can be unpredictable, but this week, he faces a Panthers defense that creates pressure at the lowest rate in the NFL. With a rushing ability that's doubled the rushing yards allowed by Denver in Weeks 1-5, Fields is a good starting option in Week 7.
- Nix vs Giants: Big-Play Potential
Nix has struggled with consistency, but he has the upside we saw last season. He has a big opportunity against the Giants, who rank 26th in passing defense and generate pressure at or below league-average rates. New York has allowed the second-most yards on deep passes, so Nix could have a big week.
- Love's Smash Spot
Love is a safe-floor option most weeks, but this could be one of those smash spots. The Cardinals allow the fifth-most passing yards and generate pressure at a below-average rate. Love leads the NFL in EPA from a clean pocket, and eight of his nine TD passes have come without pressure. He has also used his legs more in recent weeks.
Sit 'Em
- Dart vs. Denver: A Tough Matchup
Dart had a breakout-QB1 upside as a rookie, but he's facing the best defense in the NFL in Denver. The Broncos generate pressure and sacks at the highest rate, allowing the second-fewest fantasy PPG to QBs. Dart is likely a QB1 moving forward, but this is an extremely tough matchup in just his fourth NFL start.
- Murray vs. Packers: Not Enough Upside
Murray has topped 300 pass yards with multiple TDs once in the last three seasons. However, he has struggled against the Packers, who allow the sixth-fewest passing yards and just 18 rushing yards to the QB position all season. There isn't enough upside here.
- Stroud vs. Seahawks: A Favorable Matchup?
Stroud has had two of his best fantasy performances in over a year against the lowly Titans and banged-up Ravens, two defenses that create pressure at a bottom-six rate. However, the Seahawks have proven to be a tough matchup for quarterbacks, holding every other QB under 20 fantasy points. This week, they don't create a lot of pressure, but Stroud's ceiling is low.
- Tagovailoa vs. Browns: Struggling to Stand Out
Even with multiple passing TDs in four of his six games, Tagovailoa has struggled to stand out fantasy-wise. He doesn't add value in the run game, and turnovers have been an issue. Against the Browns, who have allowed the fourth-fewest passing yards of teams that have played six games, Tagovailoa is unlikely to change that.
- Minnesota's QB: Low Ceiling, Tough Matchup
Minnesota's starting QB has averaged just 15.3 fantasy points this season, with a low ceiling against an Eagles defense that has allowed the eighth-fewest passing yards and fourth-fewest pass TDs among teams to play six games. It's best to avoid Minnesota's signal-callers this week.
